CELLINA DRY GRASSLANDS SCI - STUDY ACTIVITIES AND MONITORING

The SCI has got the complete mapping of habitats, namely the map that - surface to surface - locates on a cartographic level all the habitats of Community interest protected by the relevant European directives. In addition to the habitat census, studies have been conducted to estimate the presence and conservative status of floristic speciesand insects of Community interest, with a specific analysis of diurnal butterflies used as biological indicators because fundamental insects for pollination for many rare and protected plants. Specific monitoring also covered the tracks of the whole area which were cataloged in three main categories: roads, military tracks and abusive paths. It is also nearly completed the ornithological monitoring regarding all the species of nesting and migratory birds within the Special Protection Area and the wider Important Birds Area "Magredi of Pordenone".
